An electrophoretic display includes a substrate and at least one pixel disposed thereon. Each pixel includes electrophoretic particles and a dispersion medium; it can optionally include a color filter layer. At least one of the electrophoretic particles, the dispersion medium and the color filter layer constituting each pixel has a property of being colourable by external radiation. |
