The present invention provides a liquid, pourable or spoonable food product having a pH in the range 3 to 5 and comprising at least one non-animal protein having a water solubility which is less at pH 3 than at pH 5, an edible acid, a salt of an edible organic acid, and wherein 25 %wt or more of the protein and at least a part of the salt is dissolved in the food product. The products have a good combination of acidic taste and physical stability. A method of making the food product is also provided. |
