titleOfInvention PROCESS FOR THE PREPARATION OF ϵ-CAPROLACTAM FROM A MIXTURE COMPRISING 6-AMINOCAPROAMIDE AND/OR OLIGOMERS
abstract The invention relates to a process for the preparation of ϵ-caprolactam from a mixture comprising 6-aminocaproamide and/or oligomers thereof, wherein in a first step 6-aminocaproamide and/or oligomers thereof is converted at a temperature of between 180 and 250 °C into ammonia and 6-aminocaproic acid and/or oligomers thereof, with a separate or simultaneous removal of the ammonia, and in a subsequent step the 6-aminocaproic acid and/or oligomers thereof are converted into caprolactam at a temperature of between 250 and 400 °C.
