A balanced dimensionally stable laminate (10) uses a web carrier (50) which is removably attached to a layer (100) of the laminate (10) during lamination and processing. The web carrier (50) maintains dimensional stability of the layers (20, 70, 100, 200) of the laminate (10) during lamination and processing and after removal of the web carrier (50). The web carrier (50) is removed if at all only after the laminate (10) is formed and processed. The bonding force of the web carrier (50) with at least one of the polymers layer (100, 200) resists forces which would otherwise dimensionally distort the layers (20, 70, 100, 200) of the laminate (10) or design features thereof during lamination, particularly in thermal roll-forming lamination. The layers (20, 70, 100, 200) of the laminate (10), which may include print (20) and texture design features, remain dimensionally stable after removal of the web carrier (50). The web carrier (50) can be removed at any time prior to or after final application of the laminate (50) to a substrate. |
