titleOfInvention Method for analyzing body fluids for the presence of cancer cells, use thereof, corresponding analysis kits, and use of specific active substances for treating cancer
abstract The invention relates to a method for analyzing body fluids for the presence of cancer cells, to the use thereof, to corresponding analysis kits, and to the possibilities for treating cancer that arise therefrom. The method is essentially based on the determination of the manganese superoxide dismutase, thioredoxin reductase, and/or glutathione peroxidase gene expression. The use of this method enables, in particular, a reliable diagnosis and prognosis of tumors. The reduction of an elevated expression of these genes has a therapeutic result and can be used for treating cancer.
