Polyester resin and method for production thereof |
abstract |
A polyester resin which is produced by allowing a dicarboxylic acid component containing terephthalic acid as a primary component and a diol component containing ethylene glycol as a primary component to undergo a polycondensation through esterification in the presence of (1) a compound of at least one element selected from the group consisting of the elements of a titanium group in 4 A Group of the Periodic Table, (2) a magnesium compound and (3) a phosphorus compound, wherein the total amount of a titanium group atom used (T moles/tons of the resin), the total amount of a magnesium atom used (M moles/tons of the resin), and the total amount of a phosphorus atom used (P moles/tons of the resin) satisfy the following formulae (I) to (V): (I) 0.020 ≤ T ≤ 0.200 (II) 0.040 ≤ M ≤ 0.400 (III) 0.020 ≤ P ≤ 0.300 (IV) 0.50 ≤ M/P ≤ 3.00 (V) 0.20 ≤ M/T ≤ 4.00. |
