abstract |
The present invention relates to an apparatus schematically represented on Fig.1) and method for determining the concentration of nitric oxide (NO) in a gas mixture such as air. The gas sample containing NO is mixed with a gas containing ozone (03), in a reaction chamber 1, and the change in the ozone concentration is measured by ozone meter 5 after sufficient time is allowed for the reaction between NO and 03 to take place and destroy a measurable quantity of 03. The measurements are preferably performed by UV absorption. Both static and dynamic flow systems are disclosed, with NO measurements performed in wide pressure randge. |
