titleOfInvention Silencing hybrid gene expression
abstract The present invention provides a method of selectively silencing the expression of a hybrid gene formed from at least two gene elements. The method comprises introducing into a cell containing said hybrid gene an RNA construct comprising a nucleotide sequence which is homologous to mRNA which includes genetic information of the at least two gene elements. The present invention also provides an RNA construct with a nucleotide sequence which is homologous to mRNA transcribed from a hybrid gene formed from at least two gene elements wherein said RNA construct comprises RNA which is homologous to at least two of said elements forming the hybrid gene.
