abstract |
A water-soluble complex dye capable of forming an image having light resistance, ozone resistance, and high saturation; a water-based recording fluid especially for ink-jet recording which contains the dye; and a method of ink-jet recording. The water-soluble complex dye comprises: an azo compound represented by the following general formula (1) or a tautomer thereof; and transition metal ions. The method of ink-jet recording comprises using the recording fluid. (1) In the general formula (1), A1 represents either a 5- to 7-membered heteromonocyclic group containing three or four heteroatoms among the ring-constituting atoms or a fused heterocyclic group including the heteromonocycle and can have any desired substituent, provided that the group does not have substituent hydroxy in the positions adjacent to the carbon atom bonded to the azo group; ring X1 represents a fused heterocycle which includes a 6-membered heterocycle bonded to the azo group and optionally has any desired substituent; and R1 and R2 each independently represents hydrogen or a monovalent substituent. |
