titleOfInvention DRYING CERAMIC ARTICLES DURING THEIR MANUFACTURE
abstract The invention relates to a process for forming a ceramic material or a ceramic body comprising the steps consisting in: i) providing a mixture of raw materials containing water, ii) giving a shape to said mixture, iii) removing water from said form, iv) baking said form at a temperature high enough to obtain sintering and / or a reaction of the raw materials, and therefore to form a ceramic material or a ceramic body, the materials raw materials comprising a hygroscopic polymeric material capable of retaining water in the mixture in a temperature range situated above the boiling point of water. The hygroscopic polymeric material can be a superabsorbent material, and the raw materials can include silicon carbide, graphite, sugar and starch.
