A water-base aluminum-brazing composition comprising a zinc-base flux and annorganic binder, wherein the zinc-base flux having a high specific gravity isninhibited from settling to thereby attain excellent brazing properties. Thenbrazing composition is characterized in that the thixotropy value is adjusted ton1.01 to 1.20 by incorporating 0.03 to 1.50 wt% of a (meth)acrylic acid/(meth)acrylic esterncopolymer emulsion as antisettling agent in 100 wt% of the composition. Unlikenvarious compounds used in powder-containing coating materials such as ultrafinensilica, poly(meth)acrylate salts, and polyvinyl alcohol, in the invention,na (meth)acrylic acid/ (meth)acrylic ester copolymer emulsion is used as antisettlingnagent in a prescribed amount, so that the settling of a zinc-base flux can be efficientlyninhibited without an adverse effect on the brazing properties. |
