The invention relates to aqueous dispersions containing microfine metal oxide particles and a dispersant. Said dispersions are characterised in that at least one of the compounds of general formula (I) is used as the dispersant, in which formula: M represents hydrogen, a monovalent or bivalent metal cation, an ammonium ion, or an organic amine group; a represents 1, or if M is a bivalent metal cation = <1>/2; X likewise represents -OMa or -O-(CpH2p0)q - R<1>, where R<1> = H, an aliphatic hydrocarbon group with 1 - 20 C atoms, a cycloaliphatic hydrocarbon group with between 5 and 8 C-atoms, an optionally substituted aryl group with between 6 and 14 C-atoms, p = 2 to 4, q = 0 to 100, -NHR<2> and/or -NR<2>2, where R<2> = R<1> or -CO-NH2; Y represents O, NR<2>; A<1> represents an ethylene group, propylene group, iso-propylene group or butylene group; m represents 10 to 30; n represents 0 to 40; k represents 10 to 30, whereby the sum m + k lies between 20 and 60, preferably between 20 and 40. |
