abstract |
A non-woven fabric for a separator of an alkali cell which comprises a semi-aromatic polyamide fiber comprising a dicarboxylic acid component containing 60 mol % or more of an aromatic carboxylic acid component and a diamine component containing 60 mol % or more of an aliphatic alkylene diamine having 6 to 12 carbon atoms and an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer fiber, and exhibits such an alkali resistance that in an alkali resistance test using an aqueous KOH solution having a specific gravity of 1.30 at 90°C, the weight reduction percentage for the fabric is 5 % or less after the elapse of 20 days. The non-woven fabric exhibits excellent alkali resistance, and can be suitably used for a thin alkali cell separator which allows the charge with enhanced speed and the discharge of greater current and has an enhanced capacity. |
