abstract |
A lithium ion polymer cell comprises a stack of anode layers alternating with cathode layers, each comprising respective lithium ion insertion materials, and with porous polymeric membranes separating each anode layer from each cathode layer. Each anode layer and each cathode layer incorporates a polymeric binder. An array of dots (20) of a pressure sensitive adhesive is applied to at least one of each pair of opposed surfaces and sufficient pressure is applied after assembly for adhesion to occur. An electrolyte slution is then introduced into the cell assembly to form a cell. |
