titleOfInvention | Methods and systems for determining polarization of a gas based on electron paramagnetic resonance |
abstract | Polarization of a target gas, such as a noble gas, may be determined by combining the gas with an alkali metal vapor. The strength of a magnetic field that is applied to the mixture may be varied and a plurality of resonant peaks of the alkali metal vapor may be determined. Polarization of the gas may be determined based on the plurality of resonant peaks of the alkali metal vapor. In other embodiments, the strength of the magnetic field may be held relatively constant and the resonant frequency of a tuned detection circuit that is responsive to the magnetic field may be varied. |
