The invention relates to a method for amplifying a single-stranded or double-stranded nucleic acid comprising a defined central partial sequence which is flanked by two defined partial sequences at the 3' end and the 5' end thereof . The nucleic acid can be amplified without interposing cleaning steps by using two adapter molecules which contain overhangs that are at least partly complementary to the defined partial sequences of the nucleic acid, said adapter molecules being separated from the amplified nucleic acid following the amplification process. |
