Method for producing conjugated linoleic acid glycerides |
abstract |
The invention relates to an improved method for producing conjugated linoleic acid glycerides having a reduced proportion of trans/trans-isomers. The inventive method is characterized in that: (a) fatty acid low alkyl esters of formula (I) R<1>CO-OR<2>, in which R<1>CO represents a predominantly multiply unsaturated acyl radical having 16 to 22 carbon atoms and R<2> represents an alkyl radical having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, are subjected to a double bond isomerization at temperatures ranging from 100 to 160 DEG C while using alkaline catalysts, and; (b) the conjuene fatty acid low alkyl esters obtained in such a manner are transesterified with glycerin to form the corresponding glycerides, and the low alcohol released thereby is continuously removed by distillation. |
