A type crystal (powder X-ray diffraction main peaks: 4.4°, 5.2°, 15.7°, 18.5° (2 θ)), M type crystal (powder X-ray diffraction main peaks: 6.0°, 14.2°, 15.2°, 18.8° (2 θ)), and P type crystal (powder X-ray diffraction main peaks: 4.8°, 5.3°, 14.3°, 15.2° (2 θ))of nateglinide, which are all novel crystals, can be prepared by a method comprising dissolving nateglinide in a solvent exhibiting high solubility for nateglinide and then adding a solvent exhibiting poor solubility for nateglinide or dissolving nateglinide in a mixed solvent of a solvent exhibiting high solubility for nateglinide and a solvent exhibiting poor solubility for nateglinide and then cooling the resulting nateglinide solution, to precipitate a crystal, subjecting the product to filtration, and then drying at a specific temperature. |
