abstract The present invention is related to a pharmaceutical composition comprising a natural cannabinoid compound, e.g.Δ9-tetrahydrocannabinol, and a glass of a sugar, sugar alcohol, mixture of sugars or mixture of sugar alcohols, characterized in that the natural cannabinoid compound is incorporated in the sugar glass as a monomolecular encapsulation without formation of a guest-host complex. The invention further relates to a method for the preparation of said pharmaceutical composition in the form of a sugar glass by freeze drying, spray drying, vacuum drying, or critical drying of a stable mixture containing the natural cannabinoid compound and a sugar or a mixture of sugars.
