titleOfInvention | Protective cover for an optical disc |
abstract | An optical disc protector (20) includes a circular main surface (21) and a peripheral lip (24). The main surface (21) is a circular sheet of optically clear material having a diameter slightly larger than most optical discs (10) on which it is to be mounted and having a mounting hole (25) in its center. The peripheral lip (24) is attached to, and extends all the way around, the perimeter of the circular main surface (21). It extends away from the main surface at an inward angle, so the smallest diameter of the peripheral lip (24) is smaller than the diameter of the optical discs (10) on which the protector (20) is to be used. The lip (24) does not contain a clasp for grabbing against the side of the optical disc (10) opposite from the side against which the main surface of the protector (20) lies when mounted. The protector (20) has a slightly dome-like shape (23). |
