The invention relates to the use of an organic sol of cerium in paints, particularly lacquers or varnishes to improve the durability thereof. The sol applied can more particularly be a sol comprising an ampiphilic acid system, an organic phase and particles in the form of crystallite agglomerations of which the d80, more advantageously the d90, is at most 5 nanometres, 90 % (in mass) of the agglomerations comprising 1 to 5, preferably 1 to 3 crystallites. The paints with an organic sol of cerium have an improved water content and improved mechanical properties. |
