abstract |
A surface of a first ceramic component (700) is joined to a surface of a second ceramic component (705) using a silver-based composition (710). The silver-based composition (710) is mixture of silver metal and metal oxide and the metal in the metal oxide is a metal other than silver. The silver-based composition (710) is applied to the surface of the first ceramic component (700) and to the surface of the second ceramic component (705). The silver-based composition (710) applied to the first ceramic component (700) is contacted to the silver-based (710) applied to the second ceramic component (705). The surfaces of the first and second ceramic components (700, 705) are heated to melt the applied silver-based compositions (710). The surfaces of the first and second ceramic components are cooled to form a bond between the first and second ceramic components (700, 705). |
