A method for treating a liquid for use in agriculture, which comprises providing a photocatalyst-carrying material prepared by applying a photo-reactive semiconductor containing a metal alkoxide on a porous substrate, followed by drying, and firing the resulting film, to form a micro-porous film, and clarifying the liquid using the photocatalyst-carrying material and, as a light for a photoreaction induced by the photocatalyst, a sunlight alone; and an apparatus for practicing the method. The method allows the practice of a clarification treatment of a liquid for use in agriculture to such a degree practically desired for cultivation on a large scale at a low cost, through a treatment with a photocatalyst utilizing a natural energy. |
