Method for determination of aluminum |
abstract |
A method for determination of aluminum which comprises reacting a sample containing aluminum with a chelating reagent containing lumogallion in a buffer solution having a pH of 6 or higher, and detecting a resultant chelate compound between lumogallion and aluminum by using a fluorescence detector. The above reaction according to the present invention proceeds rapidly, and the formation of a chelate between lumogallion and aluminum, which has required about 20 minutes at a high temperature (80˚C) when a conventional method is employed, completes only in about two minutes at room temperature. The above detection by a fluorescence detector can be achieved with high sensitivity. The method allows the determination of aluminum in a medicine with high sensitivity, by means of a HPLC instrument which is currently used in most of quality control sections of pharmaceutical companies. |
