A power generating cell (1) comprises a fuel pole layer (4) provided on one surface of a solid electrolytic layer (3) and an air pole layer (2) provided on the other surface. The solid electrolytic layer (3) is formed of an oxide ion conductor mainly consisting of a lanthanum gallate-based oxide. The fuel pole layer (4) is formed of a porous sintered body of a highly-distributed network structure in which a skeleton structure having metal particles linked together is surrounded by mixed conductive oxide particles. The air pole layer (2) uses a porous sintered body mainly consisting of cobaltite. Accordingly, a solid oxide fuel cell is realized that is excellent in power generation efficiency, and reduces the over-voltage of each electrode and the IR loss of the solid electrolyte layer (3). |
