The invention comprises a new elicitor protein form Cercospora zeae maydis, its amino acid sequence and the polynucleotide sequence coding for it. Further described is a method for increasing pathogen resistance in plants by transforming them with said polynucleotide under control of a pathogen inducible promotor. |
