abstract The invention relates to a method for producing alkylamines (product amines) by reacting alkenes with amines (educt amines) in the presence of a metal hydride or a metal as a catalyst. Said reaction is carried out in the presence of a co-catalyst, the acidity of said co-catalyst being higher than that of the educt amine. The invention also relates to the use of said co-catalyst in the production of alkylamines (product amines) by reacting alkenes with amines (educt amines) in the presence of a metal hydride or a metal as a catalyst.
