A spot marker (10) for use in an imaging procedure contains an amount of a detectable substance (50) which generates its own image in the imaging procedure. In one embodiment, two or more different detectable substances are used (50, 64), allowing the spot marker to be used in multi-modality fusion imaging- the combination of images from two or more different imaging procedures, such as CT, PET, SPECT, and MRI, to produce a combination image. In another embodiment, the marker (10) is configured for enabling three dimensional alignment of images from one or more different imaging procedures. |
