abstract An aqueous acrylic resin coating composition containing iron oxide and especially suitable for application to fibre cement artefacts and masonry to form a surface coating having exceptional resistance to ultra violet light and water is essentially free from black iron oxide. Other metal compounds, including iron oxides such as red and yellow iron oxide may be selected for use in the composition, provided that they are all essentially free from black iron oxide either as an ingredient or as a contaminant.
