abstract A device and a method for purifying water, the method comprising the steps of, in lakes and ponds having an extensive water surface, vertically installing, in water, a float having a plurality of panels with photocatalyst radially installed thereon, and feeding water to the panels with photocatalyst by rotating a propeller in water, whereby the water can be purified since organic substances in water are decomposed by photocatalyst and the circulation of water to spreadably flow the purified water in all directions can be caused in the lakes and ponds to effectively purify water in the lakes and ponds with less energy consumption.
