abstract |
The invention relates to a method for the targeted production of long-chained alpha -olefins with a narrow molecular weight distribution, comprising the following steps: (i) introducing a C4-C10 olefin fraction into an isomerisation metathesis reaction; (ii) separating the obtained mixture into a) a C2-C3 olefin fraction, b) a fraction which contains olefins with a desired carbon number, c) a light fraction which contains olefins with a carbon number of C4 to less than the carbon number of the desired fraction b), and d) a heavy fraction which contains olefins with a carbon number which is greater than the carbon number of the desired fraction b); iii) reintroducing the light fraction c) and optionally the heavy fraction d) into the isomerisation metathesis reaction i); iv) reacting the fraction b) in a transalkylation with a trialkyl aluminium compound in isomerisation conditions, whereby an olefin is released corresponding to the alkyl radical and the olefins accumulate on the aluminium during isomerisation and formation of corresponding linear alkyl aluminium compounds; v) reacting the alkyl aluminium compounds formed in iv) with an olefin during the release of the alpha -olefins corresponding to the akyl aluminium compounds formed in step iv). |
