Polymers for oral use which have a polymer chain (hereinafter referred to as the polymer chain 1) containing a repeated structure originating in a monomer having a residue obtained by removing one hydrogen atom from one or more phosphorus-based acids such as phosphoric acid, polyphosphoric acid, phosphonic acid, polyphosphonic acid, phosphinic acid, partial esters thereof and salts of the same, and a hydrophilic polymer chain (hereinafter referred to as the polymer chain 2); and compositions thereof. These polymers and compositions protect tooth surface from the adsorption of bacteria to thereby inhibit plaque formation. |
