abstract The present invention describes novel isoforms of the human ETS related transcription factor ERG. The present invnetion further describes the expression pattern of the novel isoforms in cell lines of the chondrogenic lineage. The invention further describes the use of these isoforms for the characterisation, identification and purification of cells expressing these isoforms and the use of these isoforms in the prevention and treatment of bone and cartilage related disorders.
