The invention relates to thermoplastic silicon block copolymers containing (A) a hard segment polymer constituent selected from the group consisting of polystyrene, polymethylmethacrylate, polybutylacrylate, polyacrylonitrile, vinyl copolymers and mixed polymers of said polymers, and (B) a soft segment polymer constituent of general formula (I) G-[(SiR2O)mSiR2-X-]n(SiR2O)mSiR2-G (I) wherein R and X have the designation cited in claim 1, and G can be the same or different and represents a radical (A)-Z-(Si) or Z'-(Si) wherein -Z- represents a bivalent radical selected from the group of radicals of formulae (II), (III), (IV), (V), (VI) and (VII), Z'- represents a monovalent radical of formula (VIII) and/or (IX), (A)- represents a bond to the hard segment polymer constituent (A), and (Si)- represents a bond to the silicon atom in (B), provided that there is, at the most, one radical G and one radical Z'- in formula (I). In formula (I), m represents a whole number between 1 and 1000 and n represents 0 or a whole number between 1 and 20, provided that when n does not equal 0 for the product of n and m, 4≤n.m≤1000 applies. |
