The invention relates to the use of an aqueous solution for carrying out the alkaline purification of synthetic resin ion exchangers, whereby the aqueous solution contains: a) alkalinity contributors selected among sodium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide and among other constituents, which can react in an aqueous solution in order to form sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide, or among mixtures of said constituents, and; b) sequestering agents selected among phosphonates, phosphates, polymer phosphates and polycarboxylates or among mixtures of said constituents. |
