Human vno receptor (r1) |
abstract |
This invention relates to a human pheromone receptor. Specifically, a human VNO receptor and its mRNA, cDNA and amino acid sequence are dislosed. Expression vectors comprising a nucleotide sequence encoding a human pheromone receptor are contemplated. Cells may be transformed with said expression vectors. Cells expressing the pheromone receptor in vitro may be utilized to screen drug candidates to identify agonists and/or antagonists of receptor activation. Drugs so identified finf a therapeutic use in psychiatric disorders and neuroendocrine disorders and diseases. |
