Biaxially oriented polyester film |
abstract |
A biaxially oriented polyester film, characterized in that the film is formed by the biaxial simultaneous orientation method, it contains inert inorganic particles having an average particle diameter of 0.5 to 5 νm in an amount of 0.1 to 2 wt %, and it has the property wherein a value obtained by dividing its heat shrinkage (HS)(%) in the longitudinal direction at 200 ° C by its F-5 value (N/mm2)(F5) in the longitudinal direction as measured at an ordinary temperature (about 23 ° C) is 0.028 or less. The biaxially oriented polyester film can be suitably used as a base film for a thermal transfer ribbon which can achieve excellent productivity while securing a transferred image excellent in the reproducibility in a shape and gradiation characteristics. |
