titleOfInvention | Biological pesticide based on chitosan and entomopathogenic nematodes |
abstract | The invention relates to a novel pesticidal formulation that is biostimulating and has fungicidal effects, which combines the biostimulating action of the chitosan and the biological control of pests in agricultural and forest crops caused by phytopathogenic insects provided by the entomopathogenic nematodes of families Steinernematidae and Heterorhabditidae. A synergistic action takes place between the biostimulant and the biological pesticide due to the action of symbiotic bacteria of genera Xenorhabdus and Photorhabdus that carry the nematodes of said families. The above-mentioned action is synergistically by the biostimulating effect of the chitosan on plants, thereby favoring radicular development and a degree of lignification thereof and provoking the elicitation of phytoalexin producing genes as a defense mechanism. |
