The present invention relates to recently identified nucleic acids and polypeptides present in normal and neoplastic prostate cells comprising fragments, variants and derivatives of said nucleic acids and polypeptides. The invention also relates to antibodies against the polypeptides of the invention, as well as agonists and antagonists of these polypeptides. The invention further relates to compositions comprising said nucleic acids, polypeptides, antibodies, variants, derivatives, agonists and antagonists of the invention, and methods of using these compositions. The compositions are used to identify, diagnose, monitor, stage, image, and treat prostate cancer and non-cancerous conditions of the prostate tissue; to identify and monitor prostate tissue; and to identify and / or design agonists and antagonists of the polypeptides of the invention. These compositions can also be used in gene therapy, in the production of transgenic animals and cells, and in the production of prostate tissue developed for treatment or research. |
