abstract |
A beam of light is spatially modulated according to the information to be recorded by a spatial light modulator (27) to generate an information light beam. The information light beam is focused by an objective (21) onto an optical information recording medium (1) in such a way that the diameter of the light beam is the smallest at the boundary between a transparent substrate (2) and a protective layer (5). A recording reference light beam is focused by an objective (31) onto the optical information recording medium (1) in such a way that the diameter of the light beam is the smallest at the boundary between the transparent substrate (2) and the protective layer (5). The interference pattern formed by the interference between the information light beam and the recording reference light beam is recorded in an information-recording layer (3) cubically. Thus a simple optical system for recording/reproducing information is structured without decreasing the amount of information. |
