abstract The present invention relates to dry, flowable nutritive supplement mixtures and to processes for their manufacture. The mixtures of the invention provide liquid nutritive supplements, containing, for example, one or more amino acids, in an organic carrier. The organic carriers of the invention are preferably high-fiber and/or proteinaceous compositions, such as protein byproducts (soybean feed, for example). The process for making the mixtures of the invention involves mixing the liquid nutritive supplements and the organic carrier under controlled conditions for absorption of the supplement into the carrier, followed by multiple or continuous additions of a reactive metal oxide, to produce the dry, flowable nutritive supplement products.
