abstract The present invention relates to recombinant DNA molecules comprising an Internal Ribosome Entry Site (IRES), wherein said IRES is isolated from an errantivirus and controls cap-independent mRNA translation. More particularly, these IRES are isolated from the retroelements ZAM and Idemfix. The invention is also directed to expression vectors comprising said recombinant DNA molecule and their uses thereof.
