abstract | Thermal recording materials which have a thermal recording layer containing an electron-donating dye precursor and an electron-accepting compound. In one of the thermal recording materials, the thermal recording layer contains an electron-accepting compound represented by the general formula (I) (I) (wherein R?1 and R2¿ each is hydrogen or alkyl) and a specific aromatic phosphorus compound. The other thermal recording material is one in which the thermal recording layer contains an electron-accepting compound represented by the general formula (I) and which has, formed on a substrate, an undercoat layer containing an organic pigment having a specific shape structure. The former thermal recording material is excellent especially in thermal responsiveness and in the heat and light resistance of the background/image during storage. The latter material is excellent especially in whiteness. |
