abstract | A method and system are provided for allowing multiple players to participate in an interactive game in conjunction with a single event such as a major league baseball game. The event is divided into a plurality of sub-events which each have a plurality of possible outcomes. Before the event, potential quantitative results for each sub-event are assigned. Numerical weights, used to calculate scores, are assigned to each of the potential outcomes. Players try to predict actual results from a list of possible outcomes for each sub-event. Players can access relevant statistics to facilitate their predictions. During the event, the scores of each player are calculated by the allocation of points, based on the numerical weights, each time an expected result corresponds to an actual result. Player scores are regularly updated during the event and displayed. At the end of the event, the final scores are calculated for each player and prizes are awarded. The game can be implemented in many forms, eg. ex. on one or more computers connected by network via the Internet, or on a personal digital assistant equipped with a wireless communication function. |
