The invention relates to antimicrobial peptides (endobiotic peptides), isolated from fish. Said endobiotic peptides can be isolated as peptides of 22 amino acids having molecular weights of about 2500 Da from the gills of the hybrid striped bass (<i> Morone saxitilis </i> x <i> Morone chrysops </ i >). The invention also relates to antibodies which bind to said peptides and methods of using said peptides. |
