Reagents which regulate human amine oxidase-like protein activity and reagents which bind to human amine oxidase-like protein gene products might be used to regulate polyamine degradation. Such regulation may be particularly useful for treating peripheral and central nervous system disorders, such as Parkinson's disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, mood disorders such as depression, and atherosclerosis. |
