abstract A system (Fig. 2) and a method are provided for securing signaling connections in telecommunication networks and to provide network functionalities (22a, 22b) to secure the signaling connection between network elements. The security parameters (34) are associated with the addressing of signaling information preferably using global titles (GT) or signaling point codes (SPC). The method for securing signaling connection within communication networks includes the steps of obtaining a security parameter (34) of a second network, using the security parameter (34) to transform the signaling information into a secured signaling information, sending the secured signaling information to the second network entity (26b), and recovering the signaling information from the secured signaling information.
