Lithium p-diarylphosphinobenzenesulfonates represented by the general formula (I); a process for preparing the same; a group VIII metal complex composed of a group VIII metal compound and the above lithium p-diarylphosphinobenzenesulfonate coordinating thereto and a process for hydroformylation with the complex (I) wherein R?1 and R2¿ are each optionally substituted aryl. Hydroformylation with the complex permits easy and industrially advantageous production of aldehydes. |
