This invention provides a novel osteoclastogenesis inhibitory factor - OPG-372 protein, a DNA sequence coding for the OPG-372 protein and a method for preparing this OPG-372 protein using recombinant techniques. The OPG-372 protein is an OPG variant. This invention also publishes uses for this OPG-372 protein. This invention also publishes the possible use of this OPG-372 protein for the treatment of many illnesses such as osteoporosis and hypercalcaemia. This invention also provides pharmaceutical compositions containing the OPG-372 protein. |
