A phthalamide derivative represented by the general formula (I): (I) (wherein R1 and R2 may be the same or different and each represents hydrogen, C1-6 alkyl, etc.; R3 represents halogeno, cyano, etc.; R4 represents halogeno, C1-6 haloalkyl, etc.; R5 represents hydrogen, halogeno, etc.; Q1 and Q2 may be the same or different and each represents carbon or nitrogen; X1 represents halogeno, nitro, etc. and X2 represents hydrogen, halogeno, etc., provided that X1 and X2 in combination may form a fused ring; and A represents any of A1 to A4); and an agricultural or horticultural insecticide containing the compound as the active ingredient. |
